MAY 13-19, 2019 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY FORECAST

MAY 13-19, 2019 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY FORECAST

This week feels a touch softer than last week. There’s more flowing conversations among the celestial bodies compared to conflict and disagreements. However, sextile and trine aspects can sometimes pass you by without much effect due to its generally comfortable nature. It is usually through the squares and oppositions where you can experience change and action. Nonetheless, with more earthy elements in the mix, there’s a lot that can be accomplished and manifested in the material world if you put in the work. We’ve got Venus coming home to sensual Taurus and Mars also changing signs to sensitive Cancer. Venus moves out of being in detriment (Aries) to being dignified (Taurus). And Mars from a peregrine-ish sign (Gemini) to its fallen one (Cancer). We also have a Full Moon in Scorpio on the weekend reaching a pinnacle of sorts from the last New Moon in Scorpio on Nov. 7, 2018. If last week was harsh on relationships, this week feels like the deliverance of tenderness required to help soften situations. Either that, or more indolence and procrastination.

APR. 29-MAY 5, 2019 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY FORECAST

APR. 29-MAY 5, 2019 WEEKLY ASTROLOGY FORECAST

APR. 29, 2019 MONDAY

It’s highly possible that you stayed up late last night because the Moon in Pisces was happily drunk from Uranus’ exciting offerings. Today however may feel a bit like a harsh hangover. But first, we experience a mildly supportive sextile between the Moon in Pisces and the Sun in Taurus. This really helps affirm our inner sense of belonging. The ego is supported by our intuition and we are better equipped to attend to our needs. The real star of the day however is Saturn stationing retrograde this evening at 20˚ Capricorn at 8:55pm EST. Here the lord of consequence will backtrack all the way to 13˚ until Sept. 17, 2019. Saturn has travelled through these degrees before since Jan. 21, 209 to be exact. Saturn signifies the fundamental structures that hold us up - like our bones and spine. Saturn urges us to have endurance against life’s struggles. It rules time and the limits it sets on our human capacity. Ruling over death and our inevitable return to ashes. Things that grow under Saturn’s gaze are slow, steady and truly time-tested. Whatever it touches, it wants to last for a long time. This retrograde cycle teaches us to confront our own inner strength and ability to survive and thrive under life’s demands. Reflect on the responsibilities you have shouldered and review if it's still work you are committed to continue. Determine what areas of your life is needing more discipline and perseverance. For people with planets, Rising and Midheaven signs in Cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn) between 13˚-20˚, Saturn is having its second go-around with these planets/angles in your chart. The second contact often means a time to regroup and rethink how you’re going to move forward with the issues that was brought up the first time around.

FULL MOON IN VIRGO - TO BE OF SERVICE TO OTHERS

FULL MOON IN VIRGO - TO BE OF SERVICE TO OTHERS

I’m very excited for my very first horoscopes featuring an art collaboration (see image credits above)! Scroll down for your Full Moon in Virgo Horoscopes. Otherwise keep reading for the low down on the astroweather for the next two weeks.

The Sun enters the boundary-less and mutable waters of Pisces on Feb. 18th at 1504 PT/1804 ET. The Sun is also being received and witnessed by way of a square aspect by the dignified ruler Jupiter in Sagittarius. The luminary responsible for our sense of individuality can have a challenging time in Pisces. If the Sun wants to exemplify the ego, Pisces wants to dissolve it. The expression of individuation in this sign is about identifying with the collective. The mutable waters of Pisces is driven to transmute our flawed human ego-needs towards a kind of transcendent spirituality. Forgiveness is the call to action this #PiscesSeason.

Not long after the Sun moves into Pisces, we experience a Full Moon at 0º Virgo on Feb. 19th 0754 PT/1054 ET. For most of us in the west, we’ll witness the brightest of the full moon just prior on the night of Feb. 18th. This Full Moon highlights the Virgo/Pisces axis that is all about matter and spirit, and being of service to others. These two opposing signs are concerned with healing through bodily (Virgo) and spiritual (Pisces) means. Luna also forms a sign based Grand Earth Trine with Mars in Taurus and Saturn, Venus, Pluto and the South Node in Capricorn. In addition to the opposition with the Sun, she also opposes this lunation’s ruler Mercury who is applying to an exact conjunction to Neptune. Translated in real life, this full moon has the potential to be quite embodied in experience. There is a rich opportunity to connect our mundane lives towards a deeper and more spiritual meaning. Where in your life can you experience such immense empathy and where can you direct all that energy towards helping others? Virgo and Pisces are signs of servitude.

The shadow work available to all of us during this Full Moon in Virgo is the potential for overwhelming self-criticism. As well, there can be a tendency towards martyrdom that’s not helpful. Use what you understand as a way towards healing instead of encouraging more self-negative talk. Think back to the last New Moon at 17º in Virgo on Sept. 9th, 2018 for clues on what has reached its peak form. Your horoscopes below will help you pin point what area of life this Super Full Moon is most felt.

On the same day of the Full Moon, her ruler Mercury in Pisces doubles down on the nebulous energy of being in their sign of detriment and fall. Mercury enters their pre-retrograde shadow at 15º Pisces and exactly conjoins Neptune at the same time. This really implicates the Full Moon in Virgo that requires critical, practical and detail-oriented ways of analyzing the messy realm of emotions. I imagine the Virgo Moon answering to the rescue efforts of a typhoon affected community with debris and injured people everywhere. It feels disorienting and this Virgo Moon would want to organize and regroup real quick. However, the Full Moon’s ruler Mercury in Pisces is busy getting lost in all the chaos. Also probably just overwhelmed by the suffering of everyone around them. It’s a lot to sort through.

Finally, on Mar. 1st, Venus enters Aquarius and remains hosted by Saturn in Capricorn. The deity of beauty and relationships moves into the fixed air of social justice oriented Aquarius. She’s finally witnessed again by Jupiter in Sagittarius by way of a superior sextile which gives us a nice boost to start March with the benefic planets helping each other out. Soon enough, Mercury will be moving backwards on Mar. 5th and I’ll save the confusing details for the next horoscopes.

NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS - A NEW LUNAR YEAR

NEW MOON IN AQUARIUS - A NEW LUNAR YEAR

A new lunar cycle welcomes us this Aquarius season. Luna gets reborn on Feb. 4th at 15˚ Aquarius at 1304 PT / 1604 ET. The day before, the planet of harmonious relating, Venus, entered Saturn’s territories joining the pile up in Capricorn. Venus changes her vibe from hopeful to hardworking. This New Moon receives help from Jupiter in Sagittarius by way of a right hand sextile and is also supported by Mars and Uranus in Aries from the left. This feels like a therapeutic hot steam for your aching muscles with the meeting of fires and air. Hosted by Saturn in Capricorn, this New Moon is ripe with so much productive potential. A New Moon in Aquarius is a truth and knowledge seeker. The fixed air sign of the water bearer carrying the collective wisdom of the universe. It aims to unlock the wisdom of equality and the truth in justice. She’s independent and intelligent just like “Miss Luzon” on the left.

The next two weeks moves on with Mercury being stuck between a rock and a hard place in Pisces. Mercury normally only stays in a sign for a little over 2 weeks but because of their upcoming retrograde phase, they’ll be staying in Pisces starting Feb. 10th until (gasp!) Apr. 16th. Mercury prefers dimensions that can be neatly categorized. In Pisces, all that form dissolves into an ether of confusion and imagination. This time is best spent getting lost in poetry and magic.

A few days later, Mars leaves his dynamic home for Taurus on Feb. 14th, a place he has a hard time being in. If Mars signifies separation, in Taurus, ruled by Venus, signifies connection. This makes Mars’ job very hard. Mars will be hosted by Venus who is ultimately received by Saturn in Capricorn. This reception and a sign based trine helps to mitigate Mars’ potential for harm.

The first two weeks of February 2019 has so much fertility and possiblity for giving shape to our plans. There’s a good enough mix of practicality and a touch of intuition and magic. For cultures in East and Southeast Asia, this time is celebrated as a new Lunar New Year. May we all flourish and plant new seeds of abundance.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE IN LEO - A DEPARTURE DRAWING NEAR

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE IN LEO - A DEPARTURE DRAWING NEAR

SUN & MERCURY ENTERS AQUARIUS

Before the Sun moves from earth to air, he squares off with Uranus in Aries for a disruptive shake up. This really exemplifies how the first two weeks of January felt like. Volatile and potent with a mix of grief and discipline. On Jan. 20th the Sun enters the second realm of Saturn into Aquarius. Fixing our time deep into winter for the north, summer in the south. Our great star does not do too well in Aquarius. The Sun is concerned with shining a light on our individual hearts’ desires. In Aquarius, a sign that prioritizes the unified collective body, can be quite far off from the ego’s need for the spotlight. Aquarius, an intellectual, prefers to search for truths and ideals through a recognition with the masses. Still traditionally ruled by Saturn, Aquarius can be resolute in his quest for reform. A positive mitigation for the Sun in detriment is that he is finally witnessed by a superior sextile from dignified Jupiter.

As always, Mercury is never too far away from the Sun. This perma-combust speedy planet also squares off with Uranus and then enters Aquarius on Jan. 24th. Overall, from here on forward, the Sun and Mercury are the only planets giving us some fixed-modality-vibes. This is a welcome change from all the cardinal-initiatory spirit and mutable-wavering mood for most of the month. Fixed signs help us finish and get to where we need to go.

TOTAL LUNAR ECLIPSE AT 0˚ LEO

Taking the main stage for the last two weeks of January is a potent lunation on Jan. 20th 9:16pm PT/ Jan. 21st 12:16am ET. A Total Lunar Eclipse occurs when the Moon passes completely through the Earth’s dark shadow and takes on a rusty or blood red colour. This month’s lunation is also astronomically called a Supermoon due to its larger than usual appearance for being closer to the earth’s orbit. This event will be visible throughout most North and South America, the eastern Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, Europe, Middle East, most of Africa and northeastern Asia.

The beginning of the Leo Aquarius axis eclipses started back in Aug. 2016. This is the last time we’re having an eclipse in Leo. This pair will not be back for another 9 years, and the North Node won’t be returning in Leo for another 19 years. The Leo and Aquarius polarity deals with the tension of individuation and communion. They both desire recognition and feedback through different means. Leo, a fixed fire sign, deals with creative self-alignment. Aquarius, a fixed air sign, deals with collective kinship & liberation. Leo offers warm generosity, Aquarius provides strategies for moving humanity forward. Both offer a kind of endurance to their mission. In your birth charts, this axis pertains to your movement in and out of your ego. The ego is an interesting human reality. It’s necessary to nurture through gains of our life’s purpose, but also necessary to take its burden off to experience humility in our imperfection. This potent lunation is all expression. Not all Leos are extroverted (yes introverted Leos exist) but what’s true for all Leos is a need for feedback. All of our Sun signs rule this house in our chart (house that’s Leo). We integrate any significations of our Leo houses into our soul’s purpose. This lunation is getting support through a sign based Grand Fire Trine with Mars in Aries and Venus and Jupiter in Sagittarius.

Looking back in time, what has changed in your life since 2016? Specifically for this moment, look into the last Solar Eclipse at 18˚ Leo on Aug. 11, 2018 for clues on what’s culminating now. Remember, a Full Moon is always about the fulfillment and blossoming of what began in the New Moon. Overall, it’s an end of a kind of era. As we weave out of this story, a new narrative comes to life. What are you saying goodbye to?

Partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn Horoscopes - A New Beginning

Partial Solar Eclipse in Capricorn Horoscopes - A New Beginning

TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE AT 15˚ CAPRICORN

Eclipses are always potent lunations that can manifest as a growth wild card. It also occurs up to 6x a year and is a very common event. It is more helpful to look at them in their bigger cycles. Sometimes shocking and unexpected things happen, and sometimes nothing really happens. If you are having a Solar or Lunar activated year, eclipses are times to watch out for. On Jan. 5, 2019 at 8:28pm ET, we experience our first partial solar eclipse in Capricorn since 2011. A partial solar eclipse is when the moon only partially covers the Sun. This event will be visible from norteastern China, Mongolia, Japan, eastern Russia, northern Micronesia, the Pacific Ocean and westernmost Alaska. Eclipses always occur in oppositional pairs for about 2 years, repeating about every 9 years. We experienced the first batch of the Cancer-Capricorn eclipses back in July 12, 2018 during a Solar Eclipse in Cancer. This means, whatever houses in your charts that are Cancer & Capricorn, will have eclipses occurring here for the next 2 years. The themes are about stability and security.

A Solar Eclipse is an amplified new moon and this one is sitting with the south node of the Moon providing an emptying out influence. As new birth emerges, death also occurs. For people with luminaries (Sun & Moon), personal planets (Mercury, Venus & Mars), and angles (Ascendant and Midheaven) in Cardinal Signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra & Capricorn), the eclipse season will likely bring about some potent beginnings and endings. No need to freak out or be afraid. Often the wheels of change have likely been in motion already so just observe. Solar Eclipses tend to express itself for about 6 months. Sometimes an external event doesn’t actually happen or things happen in the lives of the people around you. Regardless of what transpires, the energy of new beginnings is thick in the air.

Full Moon In Cancer 2018 - Empathy Can Be The Hardest Work

Full Moon In Cancer 2018 - Empathy Can Be The Hardest Work

The Full Moon happens at 0˚ Cancer at 9:49am PT/ 12:40pm ET on Dec. 22, 2018 on Saturday, Saturn’s day. 2018 was the year of retrogrades. It was a year that required all of us to be more contemplative and reflective. It demanded us to review our lives, our passions, our relationships, our thoughts and our integrity. Whatever trail you’re leaving behind, know that you survived one of the most challenging year for all of us and the whole wide world. This emo Full Moon also opposes Saturn and Pluto. At the same time, also co-present with the North Node, newly in Cancer and has not been here since 18 years ago. It’s powerful and probably triggering, for better or for worse.
