SATURN IN ARIES IS COMING

Saturn is changing signs.

Whenever this happens, expect a new area(s) of your life to undergo a period of maturation. If you’ve ever broken bones in your body before, Saturn transits are like healing and growing new bones. You learn to adjust to your new skeletal capacity and adopt new movements. You understand that there is no shortcut to fusing fractures, but there can be assistive tools and technological innovations. There will be pain, but you will manage. The road to recovery is slow, but you come out of it with a renewed sense of reality.

On May 24 (25 for some time zones), Saturn enters Aries and will be there until September 1. Consider this as a preview of what’s to come in 2026-2028, where Saturn in Aries will be a prominent feature in the cosmic skies. The Aries area of your chart will be going through a therapeutic journey akin to healing and growing new bones.

Back in March 2023, when Saturn entered Pisces, Alice Sparkly Kat and I had an incredible and super fun time collaborating on Inhabiting Confusion for Saturn in Pisces. We utilized the labyrinth as a way to work through the seeming endlessness and timelessness of Saturn’s residence in Pisces. Pisces, as an environment for the planet Saturn, is like the unseen ocean floor, and also like the perpetual galaxies swirling in outer space.

Now that Saturn is leaving Pisces and entering Aries, I invite you to a workshop in collaboration with Alice Sparkly Kat:

UNBINDING PUNISHMENT FOR SATURN IN ARIES

If you:

  • Want to participate in a creative workshop using the knife/axe as a symbol

  • If you want to understand the narratives that live inside of you around punishment, using storytelling

  • If you want to know more about the layers of Saturn's 2025-2028 transit through Aries, all of the aspects that it makes, and how that looks in terms of your rising sign

Join us for an online gathering on June 7, 2025, Saturn's Day (Saturday) at 11:00 am PT / 2:00 pm ET as we collectively rewrite our narratives around punishment for Saturn in Aries. Punishment is a tool of control and dominion. We will use storytelling to explore Saturn's cycles and time in Aries.

In combination with creative processing and unpacking the triangular hero-victim-villain drama, we will also go over technical astrological information about Saturn’s journey in Aries. Some of the things we will cover are:

WHO IS SATURN?

The Night King (Image Source)

  • Saturn is an excessively cold (like the Game of Thrones series’ the Night King) and moderately drying diurnal planet that rejoices in the 12th house.

  • Saturn sits on the edge of visibility and eternity. Saturn is the last planet visible from our geocentric POV. Saturn is an edge lord.

  • Saturn as an archetype is the Hermit, the Crone & the Elder

  • Saturn is the mythic god of time and death ― mortality as the yardstick to measure the passage of time and life.

  • Saturn's nature is to devote and endure.

  • Saturn's action is to restrict.

WHAT ABOUT SATURN IN ARIES?

Zodiac signs traditionally describe the quality of the environment a planet inhabits.

Zodiac signs are environments!

Aries is an environment where Mars finds a home. Aries is the diurnal child of Mars (Scorpio is the other nocturnal child). This is also a place where the Sun exalts. This makes Aries’ quality of environment hot and sharp ― how an injury from a cut can feel like a burning sensation. Aries is a fire sign, which brings dynamic movement and speed. It is a cardinal sign which is compelled by initiations and new beginnings.

Saturn will be residing in an environment that values the singular hero journey over the power of the collective. Saturn is in its fall in Aries, which makes it harder for Saturn to execute its usual Saturnian nature and action ― to devote, endure and restrict. It’ll be more challenging for Saturn to maintain structure, establish order and cultivate slow and repetitive discipline. Aries, instead, offers an environment that values breaking the rules of history and tradition. Aries, as an environment, can influence Saturn to uphold innovation and make decisions based on quick intuition. Saturn usually likes a strategic slow burn when it comes to taking action.

A planet in its fall describes the planet’s difficulty in being operative and efficient. In some way, we can expect Saturnian significations of authority, tradition and structure to go through a kind of breakdown and subversion to achieve its aims.

How does this affect YOU?

Speaking strictly about natal transits and not natal activations, here are two simple points to locate Saturn's contact and impact in your life in this moment:

  • House transit

  • Aspect to your natal planets and angles

  • Special mention if you’re going through a Saturn Return, which usually happens around the ages of 29, 58 and 87 (roughly adding 1 year before and after these ages). This means Saturn in the sky is returning to the same sign and degree as the Saturn you were born with. Saturn returns every 29.5 years.

Always remember: engaging with the language and system of astrology cannot replace how you embody your life.
