8/25 Sa Grand Earth Trine with the Sun in Virgo, Uranus Rx in Taurus and Saturn Rx in Capricorn at 1-2˚
A spotlight is shone upon the aspect of your life that contains the sign Virgo. For folks born during this month, it means the Sun returns to the same degree it was in when you were born. For all of us, a certain awareness and ego-consciousness occurs wherever we have Virgo in our charts. Virgo is a mutable earth sign that is concerned with discerning and differentiating what’s useful and useless. The Sun in Virgo functions to analyse and organize details in order to achieve the most efficient use of time and energy. Generally there is a desire to be critical and work through an area of life to ultimately bring ease moving forward. Health is one of Virgo’s aims and the Sun’s journey in this sign brings an awareness for us to work at making practical and concrete improvements towards better health. This can be applicable in our work, our bodies, our relationships, our family and our mental health for example. Virgo always asks: is it working properly? can it work better? is it useful? is it in good health? is it valuable? I imagine Virgos as like worker bees hired to initiate a quality improvement project – and that project could be for e.g. their career, their health, their romantic partners, their finances etc. More importantly, when Virgo is happy to work away, which can be almost always, it is in honour of wanting to be of service. The joy is in the details and their level of attention can trap them in an endless loop of adjustment towards a kind of perfection. It is helpful for this mutable earth sign to always measure the level of “good enough” that is acceptable. This strategy can help many a Virgos manage their expectation and experience a much more achievable sense of satisfaction.
The Sun immediately aspects with Uranus Rx in Taurus and Saturn Rx Capricorn forming a Grand Earth Trine. This is a very positive time promoting innovation and longevity in our efforts. In our birth charts, the houses that contain all the earth signs is being lit up by this very supportive aspect configuration. Uranus and Saturn’s retrograde (Rx) motion can represent a time for recalling and reviewing information which can manifest as delay in their expression. In any case, this Grand Earth Trine makes for practical, concrete, affirming and rewarding manifestation of our work. It will most likely feel good to put our heads down and get down to business. So use this time and get to work!
8/26 Su Full Moon in Pisces at 3°
Venus in Libra square Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 18-19˚
The Sun opposes the Moon creating her full illumination. If the Sun in Virgo represents order and practicality, Pisces represents transcendental and dissolution of earthly limitations. These two polar opposite signs point toward health and healing, albeit through different means. This Full Moon represents a culmination of intention planted from the previous New Moon, which was a Partial Solar Eclipse in Leo at 18˚ on Aug. 11, 2018. Eclipses can generally have a longer residue and effect than a regular lunation. Pisces is a mutable water sign that idealizes and dreams of transcendental and spiritual experiences. This lunation is also coupled with a tense square between Venus in Libra and Pluto Rx in Capricorn. This signifies a confrontation of how power dynamics play out in your relationships. It also asks you to review your fears and calls on you to go towards the scary and hard places. Pluto’s aim is to always transform through an intense provocation of our deep seated trauma.
8/27 M Mars in Capricorn stations direct at 28˚
Mars the planet signifying our energy to act, sever and separate has been in retrograde motion since June 26, 2018. Every time a planet stations or moves direction there is a potency to this activity. This forward motion signifies a picking up of speed in the area of our life that required a recalibration and review. We may have renewed awareness of how anger manifests in our life and whatever issues we needed to separate from may be coming to a completion now that Mars begins his motion forward.
8/28 Th Mercury in Leo square Jupiter in Scorpio at 16˚
Mercury the planet of communication and perception might wax a bit dramatic with the inflaming effects of Jupiter. However, Jupiter can also lend a more positive signification whenever it aspects other planets, even with stressful ones. This might be a time of needing to air out and attain reconciliation against the abuses you’ve suffered on your sense of self.
9/2 Su Mercury leaves their retrograde shadow
Venus enters her retrograde shadow
Mercury is now free from their retrograde shadow and hopefully this means communication, technology and transportation mirror their forward motion. Mercury will be retrograde next in Sagittarius at 13° on Nov. 17, 2018. Venus enters her pre-retrograde shadow. Her actual station is not until Oct. 5, 2018 but during this time you might experience some slight preview of what’s to come. This is a time of reviewing our values and relationships. This can also be a time of resurfacing of old lovers or relationships with unfinished business. Usually they require a kind of deliberate closure or evolution whether we engage with them or not.
9/5 W Mercury moves into Virgo
Mercury is in their sign of rulership and exaltation in Virgo. Mercury’s job is to organize and make sense of information and they do it quite well in the sign of Virgo. This can signal a time of processing information to help understand and improve this part of your life. There can be an ease with communicating and learning during this time. The earlier Virgo significations pushed forth by the Sun is highlighted with this transit.
9/6 Th Saturn in Capricorn stations direct at 2˚
Saturn the planet of restriction, discipline and responsibility has been retrograde since April 18, 2018. He now moves forward and completes his first retrograde cycle in his home sign Capricorn. For the remainder of 2018, he will stay in forward motion solidifying our efforts and hard work. We may have a better idea of how to structure and sustain a future in this aspect of our life.
9/9 Su New Moon in Virgo at 17˚
Venus moves into Scorpio
This lunation indicates that the Moon and Sun are conjunct each other. This represents a beginning of a lunation cycle. There is an emergence of new themes in the significations of Virgo – work, health and daily habits. At the same time, Venus the planet of relationships enters the sign of her detriment Scorpio. When a planet is in a sign of their detriment, it means that the planets have a more challenging time fulfilling their jobs. Venus’ job is to establish harmonious connections. In Scorpio, Venus’ desire towards harmony and beauty is coloured instead with exploration of suppressed material and extremes and intensity of feelings.
9/10 M Mars moves back into Aquarius
Mars re-enters Aquarius, the sign he’s spent 9˚in prior to his retrograde station on May 17, 2018. The first 9° of Aquarius in your birth chart is getting a reorientation with Mars. Whatever you need to do is now ready for some action. Refer back to 8/27.
9/12 W Jupiter in Scorpio sextiles Pluto Rx in Capricorn at 18˚
Venus in Scorpio sextiles Saturn in Capricorn at 1-2˚
Venus in Scorpio opposes Uranus Rx in Taurus at 1-2˚
Jupiter and Pluto configuring each other harmoniously is deeply healing and transformative. There is a natural sense of grace and deep belief in our powers and we most likely can feel inspired to put it to good use. Meanwhile, Venus forms a supportive sextile with Saturn and at the same time also opposes electric Uranus. Venus and Saturn in a positive aspect calls for boundaries and steadfast commitment that feels good. Venus and Uranus can cause excitement or chaos to shake things up in relationships. Although this can feel stressful, Uranus tend to cause trouble in order to move you out of stagnation.
9/13 Th Mercury in Virgo opposes Neptune Rx in Pisces at 12-14˚
This transit is not a good time for clear processing and communication. The mind can be prone to wishful thinking and a longing to disconnect from reality. If you can, avoid having serious conversations that requires practical and logical reasoning. Spend this time instead by making or experiencing art, meditating, listening to music or spending time near bodies of water.
9/18 Tu Mars in Aquarius squares Uranus Rx in Taurus at 1˚
Due to Mars’ retrograde cycle he ended up squaring Uranus three times. This is the third and final square between these two harsh and destabilizing planets. The themes of the last Total Lunar Eclipse in Aquarius back in July 27, 2018 will need to be re-visited. This can be an unnerving and uncomfortable configuration. A truth was likely revealed to you back in July and you’re called to confront it again.
9/21 F Mercury in Virgo cazimi at 27˚
Mercury moves into Libra
When a planet is cazimi it means that it is within 17 minutes from the Sun. In the Hellenistic tradition, when planets are within 15° of the Sun it is said to be under the Sun’s beams and is therefore weakened. However when a planet is cazimi, it is said to be bestowed life, power and influence by being in a tight and exact conjunction with the Sun. Poetically astrologers call this as being in the heart of the Sun. Mercury at this time is said to function at their highest capacity and can manifest as clarity of insight and connection to spirit. Just shortly before midnight (ET), Mercury waves goodbye to Virgo and enters Libra. Libra is a cardinal air sign and is concerned with objectivity, relationships, harmony and beauty. Mercury in Libra is charming and poetic with a strong drive for fairness and equality. This strategic and diplomatic communication style can tend towards indecision due to a natural awareness of opposing views.
