JUPITER IN PISCES 2021-2022

Jupiter in Pisces by Charm Torres

Growth is not inherently positive or desired. We don’t want bigotry and covid to proliferate, for example. Though emotional intelligence and genuine kindness might be something we want to spread. Abundance and excess toe the blurred lines. Is it luck, or is it privilege? Is it altruistic generosity, or is it guilt? Is it healthy boundaries, or is it conflict avoidance? In any case, let’s re-welcome (re-entered on Dec. 28, 2021) the greater benefic Jupiter to its Very Wet home in Pisces, a sign of contradiction and nuance.

One modern understanding about the massive planet Jupiter is that whatever it touches expands. Traditionally, however, Jupiter is like the architect overseeing and maintaining the big picture order. Benefic planets (Venus & Jupiter) by nature aims towards harmony. Jupiter intends to stabilize and heal.

Pisces is the wateriest of the water signs―a whole ocean to Cancer’s rapid rivers and Scorpio’s still deep seas. Symbolized by two fishes swimming against the tide, towards opposite directions, not held by any palpable boundaries. Water signs are nostalgic because they’re memory holders. They never forget, beyond generations. Water, the vessel that holds life. Mutable signs like Pisces are inherently introspective and reflective.

To understand the transit of Jupiter in Pisces, everything requires context. How astrology manifests on the world stage may not relate in the same way to your personal life. Just because Jupiter in Pisces in Essential Dignity terms indicates strength and power to the planet, increasing its beneficence, it doesn’t easily translate to good/desired events. It can, but not necessarily.

One thing Jupiter may impart is the grace of hope. Especially after the last two years in the signs of pragmatic, constrictive and pessimistic Saturn (Capricorn, where it finds its fall and Aquarius, where it was co-present with Saturn the whole time), it’s a relief to feel the promise of hope. It’s a welcome balm after a time of desolation, lack, and isolation. It’s not wrong to wish for better things even if the reality still looks bleak and unlikely. We need these kinds of dreams. These, too, change worlds. We know that life and death, good and evil, are always happening simultaneously. It’s not wrong to hope.

But it’s important to note that Jupiter’s co-presence and eventual conjunction with Neptune (on Apr. 12, 2022, at 23° Pisces) can be the further blurring and toxic-positivity-bypassing of our idealized dreams. It can feel enchanting, a lot delusional tbh. It can also give way to creative and magical thinking. It can both feel healing and confusing. Tread carefully.

Jupiter has briefly dipped into Pisces back on May 13 – Jul. 28, 2021, from 0°-2° in Pisces. From Dec. 28, 2021 to May 10, 2022, Jupiter will zip through the whole of Pisces. And then it’ll enter 0°-8° in Aries from May 10 to Oct. 27, 2022. From there, it’ll reenter Pisces again for the third and final time until it goes into Aries for good on Dec. 20, 2022. The last time Jupiter was in Pisces was Jan. 2010 - Jan. 2011.

To find out if Jupiter In Pisces is going to impact your personal chart:

  • Determine if you have placements in the sign that it is transiting in. Suppose you have angles (Ascendant/AC, Midheaven/MC, Descendant/DC, Imum Coeli/IC) and planets in Pisces. In that case, it means Jupiter will be merging with that specific area of your life.

  • If you have placements in another mutable sign―Gemini, Virgo and Sagittarius―it means Jupiter will influence your chart in a possibly stressful and constructive way.

  • If you have placements in the same water element and an earth element (except Virgo)―Cancer, Scorpio, Taurus and Capricorn―it means Jupiter will impact your chart in a supportive and encouraging way.

You must first have a precise birth time for your Ascendant/Rising Sign (to figure out your Rising sign, enter your birth date, location and time of birth into an astrology app like the CHANI App, Time Nomad or online at astro-seek.com and astro.com). This is the area of life Jupiter in Pisces might be improving, possibly inducing growth and a chance to be more introspective about:
